Pikes Peak Sings Project to Film at Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center
Public Invited to Sing America the Beautiful Wednesday, July 18th at 8:15am
Colorado Springs, Colorado – July 17, 2012 – Pikes Peak Sings, a grassroots project launched by various citizens and organizations and, was created to leverage the power and sense of community that exists in Colorado Springs around the song America the Beautiful. As an official Pikes Peak Leadership project Members of the community are invited to gather at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center Wednesday morning to help sing this iconic song.

WHY: This nationally recognized song was penned after Katharine Lee Bates’ visit to the summit of Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain. The words paint a powerful picture of Colorado Springs and our nation. The finished viral video will be unveiled at the Spirit of the Springs Summer celebration on July 28th at Security Service Field.
