Pepsi is giving fans a chance to join Beyonce when she performs during the Halftime show at the Super Bowl. Fans who visit www.pepsi.com/halftime will be given a series of poses to photograph and pics uploaded to the site will be used in an ad introducing Beyoncé’s set. In addition, people who submit their photos by January 11th will be entered into a drawing for a chance to be one of 50 fans selected to attend Beyoncé’s halftime dress rehearsal, and be part of her on-field dance team during the Super Bowl, which airs February 3rd on CBS.
Ann Curry has asked NBC News executives to release her from her contract so that she can accept a "high-profile anchor position" at CNN. She has formally asked her attorney to explore exit options from the network. However, NBC bosses have indicated they are unwilling to release her. The contract's non-compete clause would bar Curry from working for another news organization for two years if she quits. The source added that Curry's lawyer plans to argue that the network violated the terms of the deal because she was demoted and has been "sequestered" from appearing on-air.
"American Idol" winner Kris Allen and his pregnant wife Katy were in a head-on collision car crash on New Year's Day. Kris suffered a broken arm. Katy suffered some injuries. Their dog was also in the car, and he is fine. It's unclear how far along Katy is in her pregnancy, and there's no word if the accident had any impact on it. Kris's mom, Kimberly, says Kris is in a lot of pain and may not play guitar for awhile.
Sofia Vergara’s 2013 started off with some drama. Her fiancé, Nick, was kicked out of a Miami nightclub not long after they got into a “heated argument.” Nick was already upset that the party was being hosted by club owner Chris Paciello, who dated Sofia in the 90s. Then Nick got into a spat with folks at the VIP table next to them. Some pushing and shoving started, Sofia stepped into calm the situation and she ended up with a ripped dress. Nick was eventually thrown out of the club, but apparently he and Sofia settled their differences, because they went home together.

If Reggie Bush, Kris Humphries and Lamar Odom are any indication, the rapper could be facing a downturn in broad appeal and marketability. There is a thing called the N-Score...it’s an algorithm that assesses an athlete's popularity. The three sports players who dated a Kardashian sister experienced a dramatic plunge in the public's perception of them. The effect is being called "Kardashian Curse." What’s interesting is that their awareness has actually shot up, in every case, but their negative appeal has also shot up," "You need to do well, and you also need to date someone who people like. The Kardashians are controversial. They have really negatively impacted the marketability of [Odom, Bush and Humphries]."
Meanwhile, Radaronline claims there’s a good chance Kim Kardashian could still be married to Kris Humphries when she gives birth. The site suggests that unless Kim complies with Kris’ demand to admit their marriage was a fraud the case will go to court, which could last a while. Kim and Kris’ divorce lawyers are due in court February 15th to set a date for trial, and the earliest date is expected to be sometime in June to accommodate Kris’ basketball schedule. Kim is reportedly due to give birth sometime in June. Said a source, “Kris isn’t trying to drag this out, but he wants to be vindicated in court. Kris will see this through to the end.”
Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana have split. Although they were headed to Paris for a few weeks, it turned out they couldn’t stand that much time together. Bradley spent the holidays with his family in Europe. Zoe spent New Year’s Eve with friends in Miami.”This is not the gorgeous couple's first rodeo ride. They started dating about a year ago, split over the summer and rekindled their romance in the fall. Cooper, who is getting Oscar buzz for Silver Linings Playbook, was the “Sexiest Man Alive” before Channing Tatum came along.
Here’s a sign that you’ve got too much money to burn: Leonardo DiCaprio chartered a private 747 jet for himself and a dozen friends so they could ring in the New Year in both Australia and Las Vegas. The New York Post reports that Leo was with his latest girlfriend (and movie co-star) Margot Robbie, Jamie Foxx, Jonah Hill and Kevin Connolly. An insider says (quote) “They partied at Marquee Star Lounge Sydney and left at 1 am Australia time, flew 13 hours to Vegas, arriving at 10 pm to watch the fireworks.” That makes for almost 24-hours of non-stop partying (on two continents, in two hemispheres).
Reps for Katie Holmes have shot down a report that suggested she was secretly dating Jake Gyllenhaal. Grazia magazine claims the two single stars have gone out on several romantic dinners in the last few weeks, and said they were actually set up by Katie’s former Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson. But a rep for Katie tells Gossip Cop the story is “not at all true,” with a source close to Jake also saying the story is a lie.
The campaign for the Academy Awards is in full swing. We know which films are being considered, and the actors considered to be front-runners. Among the actresses, Anne Hathaway is a favorite for her role in Les Miserables. And Jennifer Lawrence is likely to get a nomination for Silver Linings Playbook. Their campaigns could not be more different. Jennifer is acting as if she’s perfectly spontaneous and unfiltered. She told Vanity Fair magazine (quote) “Not to sound rude, but [acting] is stupid. Everybody’s like, ‘How can you remain with a level head?’ And I’m like,‘Why would I ever get cocky? I’m not saving anybody’s life. There are doctors who save lives and firemen who run into burning buildings. I’m making movies. It’s stupid.'” On the flipside, Hathaway is taking a more calculated approach. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she said she lacks sex appeal. (quote) “I'm not Rihanna. I'm not cool.” She also let it slip that she realizes Jennifer Lawrence is her main competition this Oscar season by saying she feels very old at age 30 and (quote) “It doesn’t help that the new crop of girls is so gorgeous, and so 22-years-old.” Jennifer Lawrence turns 22 this year.
