A celebrity we can relate to!   Megan Fox finally joined Twitter last Thursday.  And one week later, she QUIT…because she HATES IT.--In a Facebook post yesterday she explained, quote, "I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly, but as it turns out, I still hate it.  "Love you guys but I will just never be that girl.  Facebook is as much as I can handle.  I'm sorry."

Dating off-and-on for six months is evidently long enough for John Mayer. He’s pressuring Katy Perry to move in together, either at her digs or in a new place of their own. A friend says (quote) “John wants to take his relationship with Katy to the next level. He feels like she’s the one for him and wants to commit himself fully.”  After dating in the summer, Mayer and Perry took a long break before rekindling their romance near the end of the year.

Did you know that Meredith Vieira is STILL doing "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in syndication?  Well, she is.  Or actually, she WAS.  She just announced that she's quitting.  We assume that's her FINAL ANSWER.

Last week, a paparazzi photographer was struck and killed by a car while trying to get video of someone he thought was Justin Bieber getting pulled over by the cops.  And now, Charlie Sheen is donating $12,000 to pay the guy's funeral expenses.  He says, quote, "As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved." This wasn't just a random donation though.  Charlie is friends with a guy who knew the photographer and was trying to raise money for his funeral.  This is just the latest in a long line of good deeds by Charlie.

Justin Bieber is being sued by an ex-bodyguard…for beating on him.   And to make this lawsuit even more ridiculous, this guy is one of those former Israeli military guys who are so popular in the bodyguarding world because they're, like, the biggest and best on the planet.  He's seeking unspecified damages for assault and battery…plus $420,000 in unpaid overtime. A source close to Justin calls the guy, quote, "a disgruntled employee looking for money" . . . and says the idea that Justin hit him is ABSURD.   The guy was actually fired…apparently for being a pretty habitual liar.  He even lied to get the job in the first place by falsely claiming he had previously worked with Justin Timberlake.

Justin Timberlake posted a video on a site that's counting down to midnight, Sunday night.  In the video, he says he's "ready" to return to his music career.  It's unclear what's coming…but it's probably details on a new album…a single…tour dates…or some combination of those.  For what it's worth, there's a rumor that Justin recorded a new single that features Beyonce and Jay-Z.

John Travolta and country singer Keith Urban attended an event for Qantas Airlines in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night…and ended up singing the Beatles’ song "Yesterday" together.

There's been some talk over the years about a live-action "Star Wars" TV show, but nothing ever got off the ground.  Well, now that Disney controls Lucasfilm…the project may finally get rolling at ABC, which is also owned by Disney.    One of the main obstacles before now was COST.  Some estimates projected the budget for a live-action "Star Wars" show to be more than $5 million PER EPISODE.   But since Disney owns ABC and "Star Wars", some of the costs, like licensing, would be eliminated and they'd be able to keep basically ALL the profits on stuff like DVDs and merchandise in-house.  Nothing is in the works yet.

In case you missed it . . . Brad Paisley rolled out a silly new song called "The Ballad of Honey Boo Boo" on Wednesday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live".

Beyonce has reunited with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to record the first new Destiny’s Child single in eight years.  The song, "Nuclear", will be released on an upcoming compilation album.  There's also talk that Kelly and Michelle will join Beyoncé during her Super Bowl performance next month.

The "New York Post" "reported" yesterday that Elton John and David Furnish have another kid, after using the same surrogate they used for their son Zachary.  It's not true.--Elton's rep says, quote, "Reports that Elton and David have had a second child are false."Zachary turned 2 on Christmas Day.

It’s been awhile since we last saw Adele. At this weekend's Golden Globes, she's poised to make a triumphant return. Unfortunately, show organizers say the British singer would be attending as a nominee, not as a performer. Her “Skyfall” theme for the latest James Bond movie is favored to win in the best original song category.
She hasn't been spotted in public since giving birth to her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki in October. In fact, the couple still hasn't revealed the baby’s name or gender. And not a single photo has been published. So it should be nice to see her again -- even if she's not singing

The stupid rumor of the week goes to Star magazine, which claims that Mariah Carey is on a “purple diet.” That means for three days a week she eats only purple foods.  So what are her options? Grapes, eggplants, plums, Barney the Dinosaur? A sketchy dietitian says (quote) “They say a plum a day keeps the face-lifts away.” Of course, Mariah might not need a face-lift if she just stayed away from all those bowls of purple Froot Loops.

Nominations for this year's Oscars were announced yesterday, and "Lincoln" got the most, with 12.  "Life of Pi" was a close second with 11…followed by "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Les Misérables" with eight.  As most people expected, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and the James Bond movie "Skyfall" got a few technical nominations, but were shut out of the major categories.
The Best Actress category includes 85-year-old Emmanuelle Riva ("Amour") and nine-year-old kwa VEN zin ay Quvenzhané Wallis ("Beasts of the Southern Wild").  They're the oldest and youngest actresses EVER to be nominated in the category.
The previous record for OLDEST Best Actress nominee was Jessica Tandy, who was 80 when she was nominated for "Driving Miss Daisy" in 1989.  She won.   The record for YOUNGEST Best Actress nominee was previously held by Keisha Castle-Hughes, who was 13 when she was nominated for "Whale Rider" in 2003.  She didn't win.   The Oscars air Sunday, February 24th on ABC.  Seth MacFarlane is hosting.
