Brent Musburger makes no apologies for commenting on Miss Alabama Katherine Webb’s attractiveness during the BCS Title game. Asked if he thought his comments were inappropriate, Brent said NO. As for ESPN's apology, he said, quote, "Individuals say what individuals say. And corporations do what corporations do. Obviously, they felt it was the right thing for them to do." Speaking of Katherine…"Inside Edition" has tapped her as a correspondent for next month's Super Bowl in New Orleans.
It sounds like Jennifer Lopez is finally giving up on winning a Grammy …and moving on to an OSCAR. She says, quote, "I think everybody that has ever taken acting seriously would love to be recognized in that way. Of course! Why not? It sounds like she's been planning her acceptance speech for YEARS. She says, quote, "It changes every so often over the years…Different people, different things."
Former "Diff'rent Strokes" star Conrad Bain died of natural causes on Monday. He was 89. His daughter said he'd "been unconscious for a couple of days, but he was comfortable." She added, quote, "[He] really was a lot like his character on 'Diff'rent Strokes'. He had that warmth and stability. He also was a very intellectual person." Conrad played Phillip Drummond on "Diff'rent Strokes" for the show's entire run…and before that, he was Dr. Arthur Harmon, the neighbor guy on "Maude".
"TV Guide" says the USA Network is developing a new LATE NIGHT talk show . . . with Will Ferrell’s production company . . . that will actually be modeled after MORNING talk shows. You know, like "Live with Kelly and Michael", and the fourth hour of "Today", which is hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. Basically, it's aiming to be "the first 'morning show' of the day"…literally…at 12:01 A.M. This SEEMS like an awesome, hilarious idea, especially since Will Ferrell has his hands in it…but there's a catch: That "morning show" thing ISN'T a joke. An "insider" says, quote, "They're dead serious. It'll have coffee cups, the whole thing. They want it to be a comedy-type program, but not a parody." There's no word on any hosts yet. Producers hope to hire a male-female hosting team soon.
A little more of Carrie Underwood's interview with "Allure" magazine is out. You know those teeny miniskirts she's always wearing on stage? Well, she is never going to have a wardrobe malfunction because Carrie ALWAYS wears SHORTS underneath. Yeah, always. She said, quote, "Underneath every skirt, every dress, I'm wearing shorts. So that everyone in the world knows, if I ever fell down, nobody would get a peek at anything." Carrie also makes sure the shorts are a different color from her clothes...so there will be NO confusion. Quote, "[It's] so that everyone knows they're not seeing my undergarments...So sad."
